My life's journey of embracing illness, change, and aging has been so much fun! Not the belly laugh, knee slapping kind of fun or the thrilling fun of an amusement park or going to a comedy club, but the fun that results from the unexpected joy of discovering and revealing inspirational signs lighting the way . . . recalling a haunting melody of a lyric, waking from a dream to record a fleeting thought, overhearing another's conversation, tuning in at 3 a.m. to a meaningful message on a television show or in a movie that I was ready to hear, finding the perfect paragraph in an article almost ready to be tossed away, thinking nostalgically of an old friend and then receiving a telephone call from her that evening. These are the twists and turns or detours on the road - awarenesses and insights that spontaneously come into view leading to a deeper level of mastery and commitment to the journey. I don't want there ever to be an end.
Having been partially paralyzed and in a motorized wheelchair since the late 1980's, I have found unwavering faith in my Higher Power, resulting in deep gratitude. Consequently, all of my slowing down and the great deliberateness of each of my movements has been the source of the compassion that I have had to develop for myself. Each detail and attention to the moment has overflowed with satisfaction, fulfillment, and completion. My heart is empathetic to others with chronic or not-so-chronic illness or injury who are, like me (and like it or not!), learning the amazing lessons from the heart of aging with grace. Each of my slow and deliberate movements has become a kind of contented meditation, deepening my commitment to embracing the moment, and to sharing and contributing my peace to all of humanity.
I know that living your best life is a transformational process of listening intently and caring for body, mind, and soul in every moment. Come on in, and get practical information and inspiration.

-- personal note to Linda Noble Topf from Lonnie and Muhammad Ali, October 31, 1996
"Linda Noble Topf is living proof of miracles in action. Her book is an inspiration to all of us."
--Marianne Williamson
"You Are Not Your Illness can show you who you are. It can help you hold up the mirror so you can see your true self and your beauty. This is not about perfection but about achieving completeness in your life and healing. I feel there are two main themes to a healed life. One is finding a path in life, a way of contributing love to the world. This is not found by being intellectual and logical; that leads to your becoming path-o-logical. It is found by exploring your inner darkness, your feelings and your happiness. Linda Noble Topf can be a guide on your path."
